Positive Impact Support Groups (March 2010)
Support groups meet on a weekly basis, unless otherwise noted. Pre-screening to attend most groups is required. Any open (drop-in) support groups will be noted as such. Groups are limited in size; please contact the group facilitator to enquire about availability. There is no cost to attend a support group at Positive Impact. Please note that group schedules may change.
Monday
HIV and Middle Age

Living Well with HIV: For Long Term Survivors

A psycho educational and support group for HIV+ Spanish speaking individuals at least 18 years of age. The group offers information and support. *No registration required. This group meets at Cobb Douglas Health Center.

A therapy support group for ladies affected and infected by HIV/AIDS that addresses topics such as HIV/AIDS diagnosis, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, healthy relationships, disclosure, daily living and so much more! This is a process group consisting of 8-10 participants and requires a 8-week commitment. *Pre-registration required. A new group begins every 8 weeks.

A closed psychotherapy group for men and women diagnosed with HIV within the past 18 -24 months that are seeking information and support. This group will address concerns such as medication, healthcare, survival, spirituality, and disclosure. Requires 6 week commitment.

A psychotherapy group which will focus on challenges associated with HIV/AIDS and substance misuse, such as depression, anxiety, grief, and other concerns, by gaining self-awareness, knowledge, and support from others who share similar struggles. This is a closed therapy group consisting of 8-9 participants.
